Dr. Tiffany Willis is a pediatric psychologist in the Developmental and Behavioral Sciences department with expertise in the provision of services to infants and families in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and the Special Care Clinic (SCC). In this role, she provides parents counseling at the most difficult time in their lives, supporting their coping and providing guidance as they prepare for the future with their child. In addition, she provides therapy to parents seen in the Fetal Health Center who are being cared for due to high-risk pregnancies with potential congenital birth defects. Through her leadership, she has increased programming to continuously improve standard practice for both psychology and multidisciplinary teams that are critical to improving outcomes for patients.

Dr. Willis has a doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology and specialized her training to focus her clinical practice on infant mental health. She received her post-doctorate training from the University of Colorado at Denver, School of Medicine. While there she participated in the nationally recognized Harris Infant Mental Health Fellowship program. She is now one of the nation’s few NICU psychologist and presents locally and across the country on topics related to her expertise. She uses every opportunity to support, encourage and inform others on perinatal mood and anxiety disorders and how to seek/refer for appropri-ate help.

Tiffany is an exemplary leader, role model and mentor at Children’s Mercy. She has led the promotion of Diversity and Equity issues within her Division and across the Hospital. She is a respected and trusted re-source for her colleagues. Her clinical work and leadership demonstrates a commitment to the mission of CMH serving the community’s most vulnerable children and families through excellence of knowledge, skill, advocacy and compassion.

Having a heart for service, she regular volunteers with the Black Health Care Coalition with community health fairs and baby showers. As a Big Sister, Dr. Willis also supports Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Kansas City. A founding member and current Treasurer, Tiffany serves on the Missouri Association for Infant Mental Health and Early Childhood and National Perinatal Assoc.
